1:3 Scale: Embroidery

Swiss embroidery / Chicken Scratch / Bordado Español with silk ribbon details, to be part of a bedding set for one of my Paola Reina Dolls (32 cms / 13 inches). I was very lucky to find gingham at a very small scale at a local shop – I've wanted to do this for a very long time, and I could not be happier with the result.

A Dollmaker's Life: Threads

Best moments as a dollmaker and textile artist: receiving this gorgeous set of silk embroidery threads in the mail, and starting dreaming of all the things I am going to embellish with them!

1:6 Scale: Christmas Miniatures

A friend on IG posted a beautiful Christmas cardigan for Barbie yesterday, and it inspired me to share some of my own Christmas miniatures – these are from many years ago, but it's one of my favourite themes, and I think this year I am going to do many more!

The vintage wrapping papers were made by me in Photoshop, using postcards from the 1950's.

New Work: Medieval Style Tunic For Paola Reina

I just finished this medieval style tunic today for one of my Paola Reina dolls. I recreated a pattern I found on Pinterest to the doll's measurements, and made it in two colours of linen (natural and mustard) with full embroidered neckline and sleeves.

The pattern includes front and back inserts, and underarm gussets, to allow for more freedom of movement - yes, the doll does not need them, but it was really fun to try a completely new idea, and I really enjoyed taking my time with the details.

Now I want to make one for each of my dolls, she looks so cute, and this is exactly the kind of style I was looking for!

1:6 Miniatures: Books

1:6 scale books, made with scans from my own books, each at the real scale of their size and thickness. I hate it when dollhouse libraries have all the books in the same size, it looks so fake.

One of my favourite dolls, Ciruela (Plum), 18 inches vinyl Kathe Kruse doll. Full set of handsewn clothing made from my own patterns and embroidered. Set includes dress, shoes, headdress, bag and underskirt.

I love this set - it says so much about my love for Folk Art and Eastern European arts.

The bag opens, and is fully lined.

Underskirt detail, matching the pleated sleeves.
